Things Engraved Locations in Canada: Where to Go Now

For twenty years, "get it engraved" meant the Things Engraved kiosk at the mall. In January 2020 the chain closed all 73 of its Canadian stores at once. People still search for the locations every month, and there's nothing left to find.

So where does that engraving get done now? It depends on one question: do you already own the thing you want engraved?

The short answer. Things Engraved has no store locations in Canada. All 73 mall kiosks closed in January 2020, and the brand now sells online at thingsengraved.com. Are there any Things Engraved locations left?

No. The chain shut every Canadian mall location in January 2020. The brand is still alive online: thingsengraved.ca now forwards to thingsengraved.com, which calls itself "Things Engraved Canada" and sells engraved frames, glassware, pens and jewelry by mail.

What's gone is the counter. You can't walk up with a watch, a flask or a trophy and hand it over anymore. That was the part most people used, and it's why "things engraved near me" still gets searched in cities that haven't had a kiosk in six years.

We know that counter well. LAMOSE started as a kiosk in an Edmonton mall: one laser, engraving names while people watched.

Where to get things engraved now, by city

We wrote a separate guide for each city. Each one names local shops that engrave items you bring in, which we don't do.

Not on the list? Search "trophy shop" or "awards and engraving" plus your town. Trophy shops are where most of the old kiosk work went, because they already own the engravers.

Local shop or online engraver?

Our pick, stated plainly: if the item already exists, like your grandfather's watch or a team trophy, take it to a local shop from the guides above. If the engraved thing is the gift itself, buying it already engraved beats buying a blank and then paying someone to engrave it.

What we engrave in Calgary

For an item you already own, a local engraving or trophy shop. Our city guides above list shops in 20 Canadian cities. For a new gift, an online engraver ships it to you already engraved.

Can I send LAMOSE an item to engrave?

No. We only engrave the tumblers, bottles and mugs we sell. For bring-your-own-item work, use a local shop from the city guides.

How long does engraving take?

At LAMOSE, we email a proof within 24 hours, then engrave in 1 to 3 business days before shipping. Local shops set their own times, so ask when you drop the item off.
