If you're engraving something you already own
Hamilton still has real engraving shops, just fewer of them than the mall-kiosk era. Aran Awards & Engraving has run out of their Unsworth Drive location since 1969, with CO2 and fibre lasers built for trophies, plaques, lamacoids, and industrial signage — they'll take a personal piece, but it's priced and scheduled like a commercial job. Royalty Engraving's counter inside Lime Ridge Mall's Hallmark store is the closest thing left to the old walk-in-and-wait experience. RudixJewellery and Ancaster Jewellers both engrave rings, watches, and jewelry, but that equipment isn't built for stainless steel.
Call ahead with the item and the material. A laser set up for a gold ring or a lamacoid plate isn't calibrated for a stainless tumbler, and a shop quoting sight-unseen is guessing.

This is the hole the mall counter used to fill. Things Engraved sold the item and the engraving as one purchase — pick a flask, add a name, walk out. What replaced it in Hamilton is either a kiosk with limited stock or a shop built for corporate awards, not gifts.
