Things Engraved ran a counter at Orchard Park Shopping Centre on Harvey Avenue. It closed in January 2020, the same week the chain shut all 73 of its Canadian stores. Orchard Park's own current store directory doesn't list a replacement.

So where does that leave someone in Kelowna who wants something engraved in 2026? Two different questions, two different answers: are you bringing in an item you already own, or are you buying a finished engraved gift?

The short answer.

Things Engraved closed its Orchard Park location in January 2020. Kelowna Engravers & Badge Makers, a family-run shop operating since 1972, handles engraving and personalization on items you bring in. For a finished engraved steel tumbler or bottle, order direct from a maker — we engrave to order in our Calgary workshop and ship to Kelowna in 1–3 business days, engraving included.

Your three options in Kelowna, compared

Option Best for The catch
Established local engraver (Kelowna Engravers & Badge Makers) Gifts, plaques, name badges, engraving on items you bring in A general engraving shop, not a steel-tumbler specialist — call ahead with the exact item
Trophy specialists (The Trophy Den, Creative Trophies and Gifts) Trophies, plaques, awards, medals Trophy-shop equipment; not set up for a double-wall insulated bottle
Order direct from a maker Finished engraved steel tumblers, bottles, and mugs, shipped to your door Not same-day: made to order, ships in 1–3 days

If you're engraving something you already own

Kelowna Engravers & Badge Makers has been a family-run shop in Kelowna since 1972 — general engraving, wood, leather, gift items, name badges, and plaques. It's the longest-running engraving business in the city and one of the only local results that actually advertises engraving as a service, not just trophies. Steel tumblers aren't the advertised specialty, so call first with the exact item — a laser set up for a leather wallet or a wood plaque isn't automatically calibrated for a vacuum-insulated bottle wall.

If you're buying an engraved gift

This is the hole the mall counter used to fill. Things Engraved sold the item and the engraving together — pick a flask, add a name, walk out with a finished gift. What's left in Kelowna is a general engraving shop built around bring-your-own items and trophy counters built around awards, not a browse-and-buy shelf of finished tumblers and bottles.

We took the direct route instead. LAMOSE makes the tumblers and bottles ourselves and engraves every order in our Calgary workshop: the laser cuts through the powder coat into bare steel, so a name can't fade, peel, or wash off. Engraving is included, not an add-on. Your order is made when you place it and ships to Kelowna in 1–3 business days. 4.89 stars across 7,796 Etsy reviews.

Two places to start:

  • Grouse 16 oz tumbler, $35. Double-wall 18/8 stainless steel, 6 hours hot, 12 hours cold, wide-mouth flip lid. The everyday cup people keep on their desk.
  • Robson 21 oz bottle, $40. 12 hours hot, 24 hours cold, one-hand sport cap. Still cold on the walk up from the lake.

See the Grouse — or add a name, a date, or coordinates to any piece and it ships engraved.

What about bulk orders in Kelowna?

Kelowna sits around 145,000 people and is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, on track past 165,000 within a couple of years. The growth isn't just retirees and vineyards anymore: Kelowna is home to more than 600 tech companies generating over $1.8 billion a year, a scene local business press has nicknamed the "Silicon Vineyard," anchored by UBC Okanagan's 8,600+ students. A city adding that many new hires a year understands a piece that's built to last — a welcome kit for someone's first week, a client thank-you that isn't forgettable, a team gift that survives the drive home. The workshop doesn't change, only the name on each piece does. Tell us about your project and we'll reply within one business day.

Frequently asked questions

Is Things Engraved still open in Kelowna?
No. Things Engraved closed its Orchard Park Shopping Centre location in January 2020, part of the chain's 73-store national shutdown.

Where can I get engraving done on an item I already own in Kelowna?
Kelowna Engravers & Badge Makers, a family-run shop operating since 1972, handles general engraving on items you bring in. Call ahead if the item is a steel tumbler or bottle — it isn't a listed specialty.
