Things Engraved shut down its entire Canadian chain in January 2020 — all 73 store counters, gone in one announcement, mall by mall across the country. Brampton lost its walk-in engraving counter along with every other city on the list.
So what fills that gap here in 2026? That depends on one question: are you engraving something you already own, or buying a finished engraved gift?
The short answer.
Things Engraved closed nationwide in January 2020, Brampton included. The Engraving Company at Bramalea City Centre now handles trophies, plaques, and personal engraving on items you bring in. If you want a finished engraved steel tumbler or bottle, order direct from a maker — we engrave to order in our Calgary workshop and ship to Brampton in 1–3 business days, engraving included.
Your three options in Brampton, compared
| Option | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Mall shop (The Engraving Company, Bramalea City Centre) | Trophies, plaques, corporate awards, engraving on items you bring in | Built for awards and one-off jobs, not a shelf of ready-to-buy gifts |
| Jewelry engravers | Rings, watches, jewelry you already own | Jewelry-only equipment; won't touch a steel tumbler or water bottle |
| Order direct from a maker | Finished engraved steel tumblers, bottles, and mugs, shipped to your door | Not same-day: made to order, ships in 1–3 days |
If you're engraving something you already own
The Engraving Company's counter at Bramalea City Centre is the closest thing left to the old mall experience — they'll take a trophy, a plaque, a corporate award, or a personal item, but it's priced and scheduled like an awards job, not a walk-in gift counter with a shelf of flasks to choose from. Jewelry engravers around Brampton handle rings and watches well, but that equipment isn't built for stainless steel — a laser calibrated for a gold band won't touch a tumbler wall.
Call ahead with the item and the material before you drive over. A shop set up for a trophy plaque isn't necessarily equipped for a double-wall steel bottle, and a quote given sight-unseen is a guess.
If you're buying an engraved gift
This is the hole the mall counter used to fill. Things Engraved sold the item and the engraving as one purchase — pick a flask, add a name, walk out with a finished gift. What's left in Brampton is a shop built for awards and repair jobs, not a browse-and-buy gift counter.
We took the direct route instead. LAMOSE makes the tumblers and bottles ourselves and engraves every order in our Calgary workshop: the laser cuts through the powder coat into bare steel, so a name can't fade, peel, or wash off. Engraving is included, not an add-on. Your order is made when you place it and ships to Brampton in 1–3 business days. 4.89 stars across 7,787 Etsy reviews.
Two places to start:
- Grouse 16 oz tumbler, $35. Double-wall 18/8 stainless steel, 6 hours hot, 12 hours cold, wide-mouth flip lid. The everyday cup people keep on their desk.
- Robson 21 oz bottle, $40. 12 hours hot, 24 hours cold, one-hand sport cap. Still cold on the drive down the 410.
See the Grouse — or add a name, a date, or coordinates to any piece and it ships engraved.
What about bulk orders in Brampton?
Brampton grew 10.6% between 2016 and 2021 — the fastest rate of any of Canada's 25 largest municipalities — and is now the country's 9th most populous city, with a median age of 36 and 250 languages spoken across its workforce. That kind of growth means a steady stream of new hires, new offices, and new teams that need an onboarding gift or a client thank-you that isn't a logo on a mug. A welcome kit for a new hire's first week, a launch gift for a growing team, a thank-you for a long-standing client — the workshop doesn't change, only the name on each piece does. Tell us about your project and we'll reply within one business day.
