Yellowpages still lists Things Engraved at 3147 Douglas Street in Victoria. Drive over looking for that counter and you'll find it's been gone since January 2020, when the chain closed all 73 of its Canadian mall stores in one winter. The listing outlived the store, and the searches never caught up.
So what do you do instead? That depends on one question: are you engraving something you already own, or buying a finished engraved gift?

If you're engraving something you already own
Victoria has real service shops built for exactly this. Victoria Custom Laser takes custom engraving and cutting jobs on items you bring in. Heritage House Trophies advertises laser engraving, carry-in service, and jewelry engraving for rings and watches. Lionheart Laser works in wood. Custom Stamp & Engraving covers stamps and embossers. If your item is a rugby trophy or a ring that needs a date inside the band, that's a counter job: someone looking at the actual object in front of them. Call ahead with the material. A laser calibrated for a brass plaque isn't set up the same way for anodized aluminum or powder-coated steel, and a shop quoting your item sight-unseen is guessing.

This is the hole the mall stores left. Things Engraved sold the item and the engraving together — pick a flask, add a name, walk out with a gift.
