Think back to the last wedding you went to. The foam koozie with the couple's names and the date on it is probably in a drawer, or it never made it home. That's fine. That's what a foam koozie is for.

The mistake is buying the wrong one for the job: steel for 150 guests, or foam for the five people standing up with you. The deciding number is how many people you're buying for.

The short answer. For 50 or more guests at a wedding or company party, buy printed foam koozies. They cost a dollar or two each, and nobody minds losing one. For the 5 to 25 people you want to keep it, like groomsmen or a crew, buy engraved stainless steel. Ours start at $22.50, or $12.38 each at 10 or more.

Foam or steel: what you actually get

Foam and neoprene koozies stop condensation and slow the warm-up a little. Vacuum-insulated steel puts an air-free wall between the can and your hand. That difference is measurable.

America's Test Kitchen put a cold can of seltzer in each koozie in a 72-degree room and timed how long it took to pass 50°F. The neoprene one got there in about an hour. The stainless-steel models took "about 2.5-3 hours." Quality Logo Products, a US promo seller, ran its own test in 2025 and found the gap is small in the first 30 minutes and grows after that.

So foam is fine for someone who finishes a can in half an hour. Steel is for the slow sipper on a dock, and for the gift that has to last past the weekend.

Our pick: count the heads

50 guests or more: foam. At a 150-guest wedding, one-colour foam from Print Canada Store is $1.79 each at that quantity plus a $65 setup fee, about $334 in total. Our Logan 12 oz at the 10-plus price would be $1,857. Don't spend that on a party favour half the room will leave on the table.

5 to 25 people: engraved steel. Groomsmen, a wedding party, a work crew, a beer-league team. Engrave each one with a name, so nobody walks off with the wrong can. This is where a koozie stops being a favour and becomes the gift.

Both at one event: foam on the guest tables, steel at the head table.

Custom foam koozies in Canada: who sells what

Every page below lists Canadian-dollar prices. We opened each one on October 10, 2026. Ask for a proof before you pay.

Print Canada Store (Hamilton, ON) Foam, one-colour screen print $1.79 each at 100, down to $1.29 at 800+ 100, plus a $65 setup fee 14 to 16 business days after proof

PrinterStudio.ca Full-colour neoprene $11.40 for one; $4.00 each at 200 No minimum Not stated
CD Penrose Creations (Barrie, ON) Custom koozie Listed at $5.00 "No minimums or setup fees" Not stated

For one colour on 100 or more, Print Canada Store was the cheapest Canadian page we found, but plan for its production time. 4imprint is cheaper per piece and starts at 200. For full colour with no minimum, customkoozies.ca gets close to $2 each at 100.

Steel can coolers: brand names vs engraved

Steel can cooler Price Personalization Fits
YETI Rambler Colster $40 (355 ml), $35 slim, $40 tall can Customize option on yeti.ca Regular, slim or tall, by model
BrüMate Hopsulator $36.99 Slim, $43.99 Trio Personalization collection Slim cans (Slim); 12 and 16 oz cans (Trio)
OtterBox Elevation Can Cooler $34.95 None listed Regular cans, tallboys, skinny cans, 12 oz bottles
Weddingstar "Brew" $9.99 on clearance (regular $31) Printed name or date Standard 12 oz cans and bottles
LAMOSE Logan (Calgary) $22.50 (12 oz), $27.50 (16 oz) Laser engraved, free Standard 12 oz can, or 16 oz tallboy

Where we fit: an engraved name on every can, at $12.38 each once you order 10, which is less than a third of the price of a YETI Colster. Where we don't: slim seltzer cans. The Logan is sized for a standard 12 oz can or a 16 oz tallboy, and our product page doesn't promise a slim fit. For a seltzer crowd, buy the OtterBox, the BrüMate Slim or the YETI slim model. And if you want printed steel cheap, Weddingstar's Brew is $9.99 on clearance, though its site asks for 2 to 4 weeks while it merges with another store.

One more honest note. Our product page says the Logan keeps a can "ice cold for hours" and gives no hour figure. We haven't run America's Test Kitchen's test on ours, so we won't quote theirs as ours.

What an engraved can cooler costs from us

Prices from our Logan 16 oz and Logan 12 oz product pages. Engraving is included. The multi-piece price applies at checkout with no code, and you can mix sizes and colours.

How many Logan 12 oz, each Logan 16 oz, each
1 $22.50 $27.50
2 $18.00 $22.00
3 $15.75 $19.25
5 $13.50 $16.50
10 or more $12.38 $15.13

Five groomsmen with tallboys: five Logan 16 oz at $16.50 is $82.50, each with his own name. Our can-cooler listings on Etsy have 191 reviews averaging 4.93 stars. One buyer wrote: "We got 6 can holders total for my fiance and his grooms people in the colour onyx. After I ordered them I received a proof the same day." Another: "Pretty elegant looking for a can cooler!"

Not every review is five stars. A 3-star review from 2023 says: "It doesn't hold the can in place." If the person you're buying for drinks from slim or odd-sized cans, pick a model built for them.

12 oz or 16 oz?

Buy for the can they actually drink. A standard can is 355 ml, which is the Logan 12 oz. A tallboy is 473 ml, which is the Logan 16 oz. If you're buying for a group and don't know, ask the best man what's in the cooler. A quick text is cheaper than five wrong sizes.

When to order

Ours take a proof within 24 hours, then 1 to 3 business days to engrave, then shipping. For a summer wedding, order a month out so there's room to fix a spelling. For Christmas 2026, our holiday page says to order 25 or more by Friday, November 20, and smaller personalized orders by Friday, December 11. Buying for a team of 12 or more? Get a quote. A person in Calgary replies within 24 hours.

Foam sellers run longer. Print Canada Store states 14 to 16 business days after proof, so a June wedding order belongs in early May.

FAQ

Does a can cooler actually work?

Yes, but foam only buys time. In America's Test Kitchen's test, a can in a neoprene koozie passed 50°F in about an hour in a 72-degree room. Vacuum-insulated steel models took 2.5 to 3 hours. In direct sun, both are faster.

Are stainless steel can coolers worth it?

For someone who drinks slowly or outdoors, yes: steel kept cans cold two to three times longer than neoprene in testing. For 100 wedding guests, no. Foam at $1 to $2 each does the job of a party favour.

Is a YETI can cooler worth the money?

A YETI Colster is $40 on yeti.ca and comes in slim and tall-can versions, which matters if you drink seltzer. If what you want is a name on each one for a group, an engraved steel cooler costs about a third as much at 10 or more.

How much do custom koozies cost in Canada?

One-colour printed foam is $1.29 to $1.79 each at 100 or more from Print Canada Store in Hamilton, plus a $65 setup fee. Full-colour neoprene is about $2 each at 100 with no minimum. Engraved steel is $12 to $28 each from us, depending on size and quantity.

Is there a minimum order for custom koozies?

It depends on the seller, not the product. 4imprint.ca starts at 200 and Print Canada Store at 100. customkoozies.ca, PrinterStudio and CD Penrose Creations list no minimum. We engrave one.

What can cooler fits a tallboy?

One made for a 16 oz (473 ml) can, like our Logan 16 oz, the YETI tall-can Colster, the BrüMate Hopsulator Trio or the OtterBox Elevation. A 12 oz cooler won't hold a tallboy.

Chen Deng founded LAMOSE in 2017. We engrave in Calgary; our steel bodies come from a specialist supplier. Cold-hold figures are from America's Test Kitchen, "The Best Koozies" (updated July 9, 2025), and Quality Logo Products' can cooler test (June 22, 2025). Competitor prices, minimums and turnaround are from each seller's own page, checked October 10, 2026; the per-unit figure for customkoozies.ca is our division of its 100-piece price, and the 150-guest totals are our arithmetic. Our prices and timelines are from our product and holiday pages. Customer quotes are from Etsy reviews of our can coolers. If we got something wrong, email chen@lamose.com and we'll fix it.
