YETI Rambler vs. LAMOSE Hudson: An Honest Comparison

YETI built the category. The Rambler is the mug people picture when they picture an insulated mug, and it earned that with real engineering.

So here's the honest comparison, not a takedown. Where YETI wins, we say so. Where it doesn't, here's why we think most people buying a mug with a name on it should look at the Hudson instead.

Where YETI actually wins

The lid. The Hudson doesn't have one. If the mug is going in a car or a bag, a lidded YETI does a job the Hudson can't.

The lining. YETI lists its 414 ml mug with a ceramic lining, which some coffee drinkers prefer to bare steel for taste. The Hudson is steel inside.

The name. A YETI is a gift people recognise from across the room, and some people want exactly that. We're not going to pretend otherwise.

Where the Hudson wins

It holds 118 ml more for $10 less. Add a name and the gap grows to $19, because YETI charges C$9 a side for text and we don't charge for engraving at all.

It tells you how long it holds heat: 6 hours hot, 12 cold. YETI's Rambler tumbler page promises hot or cold "until the last sip," without a number.

And it's made for a name. Every Hudson is engraved to order in our Calgary workshop, and we email a proof before it goes on the laser.

One buyer said it plainly in an Etsy review in August 2026, about one of our kids' bottles: "Seems super high quality - no different than a Yeti."

Which one to buy

• A mug for the desk, the cabin or the campsite, with a name on it: the Hudson.
• A mug for the commute: a lidded YETI, or a lidded tumbler of ours. The Hudson will spill.
• A gift where the brand is the point: the YETI.

Can you engrave a YETI mug?

Yes. YETI's Canadian store customizes Rambler mugs, tumblers and bottles, including the 414 ml Stackable Mug. It charges C$9 per side for text and a one-time C$13 per custom logo, and waives the front-side fee at 48 units or more. LAMOSE includes engraving in the price.

What's the material difference between YETI and LAMOSE?

Both are double-wall vacuum insulated stainless steel. YETI lists its 414 ml mug with a DuraSip ceramic lining. The Hudson is food-grade stainless steel inside, with no lining.

Is LAMOSE as good quality as YETI?

Some customers who know YETI say so. One Etsy reviewer wrote in August 2026 that our bottle "seems super high quality - no different than a Yeti." The differences that matter are size, price, the lid and the engraving.

Does the Hudson 18 oz have a lid?
